It’s also the last load for this site. Kate will be heading out to search for a new ice pocket tomorrow morning. Yukito came out here with me today to check the systems on all our robotic equipment before we move them to the new site. We use the buddy system when leaving the habitat, just to make sure someone always has our back. Yukito has gotten really good at hopping in the low lunar gravity. He can jump clear over me if he gets a good head start. What a kid!

(Okay, I can jump about that high too, but one bad landing, and these pressure suits might be compromised.)

One of the robots Yukito is checking out is a salvaged FranCo sapper. They tried to make a profit with ice mining in a shallower crater but suffered some poor decisions and hard luck. Up here you have to be tough and smart and have a backup plan. OPAL bought up what could be reconditioned, and now we have enough capability to handle bigger ice fields in deeper shadow.
